Artist’s Statement

The experience of my sculptures, if there is any, is in what you see, not in what I am or what else I’ve done. Those things are in all visual art. You add to them by your own appreciation and interpretation. If I have to define my art verbally, it’s probably either self-aggrandizement at the least, or lies at the extreme. Not that I don’t enjoy inventing a story, but that’s part of my performing artist life. Thank you for appreciating my work.

Caricato graduated with two undergraduate degrees, one in Graphic Design, and one in Industrial Arts/Woodworking.

He has been showing for the past twenty-five years in galleries throughout the Southwest including Arizona, New Mexico, and Colorado as well as galleries in Washington State, Florida, and New York.

Caricato has had several one-man shows in galleries, universities, and art centers, including the Rocky Mountain School of Art and Design in Denver, the Business of Art Center and the Smokebrush Art Center in Colorado Springs, and the Sangre de Cristo Fine Art Center in Pueblo.
